Didn't Go.....

Well I decided no to go to Nashville this weekend and its bittersweet. As much as I would have loved playing in the snow with the kiddos, the reason for the trip was to find a place to live, which as you can see from the pic of my parents front yard would not have happened. This picture was taking around 5pm today and as of this moment it is still snowing there. I'm bummed we didn't go and play in the snow but there is TONS to do here before we move up there and I am very quickly running out of time to get it all done. Have I mentioned I am not a fan of moving????

To Go or Not To Go

I am so torn on whether or not to go to Nashville this weekend and look at places to rent. I had planned on going and even have appts set up for Saturday to go look at places, but with this bad weather front moving in I'm torn on what to do. I really wanna go even if it snows cause the kids would love it. I just don't wanna go and not look at places because that defeats the whole purpose of going. I feel like I am running out of time and don't want to make a trip up to have to go back up in a couple of weeks. Between packing and everyday life its hard to find the time to do everything without feeling overwhelmed. Oh, what to do what to do. The only thing I know to do is wait till tomorrow and see. I just know I am going to have 2 very disappointed kids if I load up the car and we end up not going.

Wordless Wednesday

New Thing - Week 3

This week I thought I would try out a new breakfast muffin recipe. My kids are not huge breakfast fans and thought this will be great cause you can grab and go. I made Paula Deen's Peanut Butter Oatmeal Muffins, they are really good. The best part is the kids LOVE them and all I have to do is grab a few and go. Super Yummy.

It's Official

WELL IT'S OFFICAIL!!!! We will once again be residing in Nashville by the beginning of March. Daddy Couch got the official move date today, his last day of work is Feb. 26th and has to start back in Nashville on March 2nd. We are looking forward to the move but hate to leave behind our friends here. We are very excited to be close to family again though. And luckily its only 3 hours to come back to Birmingham to visit as well as for anyone to come up to see us, anytime and often. Now all I have to do is pack, find a place to live, and a preschool for the kids, that's all no big deal.

New Thing - Week 2

This weeks new thing isn't really a thing, its more of an experience. I do a lot of things with my kids but have not yet been brave enough as to take them to the movies, a play or anything of the sort without Daddy Couch or another adult with me whether it be Poppa, Nan, GG, or someone else who can help me with them. Well as many of you know, and took advantage of, they were giving away(well you paid processing but still) tickets to see 101 Dalmatians at the BJCC. So a friend and I decided we would take our 4 kids(my 2 and her 2) to see it. Her oldest ended up getting sick the morning of the show, so they ended up not going. I figured instead of letting the tickets go to waste that I would take the kids and go. To my surpirse they were pretty good I can not complain at all, I was expecting the worst so that's probably part of why they did really good. :) The show was great as well, if it comes to your area it is worth going to see. Now I just need to figure out what new thing to do for this week.
Here is a picture from the show, its not the best of Lil Man but I was trying to take it fast so I didn't get yelled at by the usher.

Wearing Princess Shoes doesn't mean you are a Princess

The other day I decided to wear my black ballet flat style shoes, because we were just running some where really quick and I thought it would be easier than puttin on my tennies. Lil man came over and asked why I was wearing my princess shoes. So I thought I would ask him if he thought I was a princess. Here is how our conversation went.
Lil Man: Why you wearing princess shoes?

Me: Because, Do you think I'm a princess?

LM: No, just your shoes.

Me: So mommy isn't a princess???

LM: No. (Proceeds to walk over to the buffet to point to a picture of me from my wedding)

Me: Is mommy a princess in that picture?

LM: Yes

Guess your only a princess if you have the whole look, dress, hair done, make-up, not just shoes. The funny thing is I wore boots when I got married, not fancy "princess" shoes.

New Thing - Week 1

This week I tried a new recipe, I am sure some of you have tried it since it is on the back of the Bisquick box, but I never had. It is called the Impossibly Easy Cheeseburger Pie. I took the picture from the website so don't think that is what mine looked like. :) It was a big hit in my house, the kids even loved it, my lil man ate 2 helpings of it which is saying a lot. The only thing I will do different when I make it next time is I will mix some shredded cheese in with the hamburger meat before pouring the bisquick mix on top, just to make it more cheesy. Other than that its great, easy to make, and highly recommended.

52 New Things

Since I am not big on resolutions I thought this might be fun to try. Thanks I'm a Mom, whose site(http://www.theincoherentramblings.com/) I got this from. I'm hoping that having others doing this as well that I will remember to also. Keep me accountable. I hope others will also try this, it will be neat to see how many different things everyone will do.

BirminghamMommy.com is teaming up with Birmingham Bargain Mom to blog about what we are doing new in this new year..

With the movie Julie and Julia as our inspiration,
we thought it would be fun to make ourselves try something new each week for the entire year.

It doesn't always have to be something big. It can be a book, a recipe, lipstick or hair color. The options for trying new things are truly endless.

Each Tuesday we will take to our blogs/Facebook/Twitter and tell what we have done that week, what we liked or didn't like about it and if we would do it again or recommend it to others.

Do you blog, twitter or facebook? Join in. We would love to have you participate and see what everyone is doing. Grab that cool picture up there, add it to your blog and find something new to do this week.

If you are on twitter – be sure to link your post there and use: #52newthings

You can find Birmingham Bargain Mom on Twitter @BhamBargainMom and you can find us there @BirminghamMommy

Also – if you keep up with things on Facebook – you can find Birmingham Bargain Mom and BirminghamMommy there too!

What a Decade!!!!

I thought I would start this decade by looking back at all the things I did in the past decade, and boy was it alot.

I guess the best place to start would be at the beginning of the decade.... All the way back in 2000.

In the year 2000 I graduated high school, as well as went to Europe.

In 2004 I married the love of my life. We were also blessed with our 1st nephew as well as a new cousin.

In 2006, we welcomed our 1st child into in the world, a son. I can't believe my lil man is almost 4. Right before the joyous occasion of our son being born, my mom's dad passed away. He was a wonderful grandfather and is missed greatly. Love you Papaw K. In the fall my family moved from Phoenix, AZ to Nashville, TN, leaving family behind but joining family ahead. We were also blessed with 2 more additions to our family, another nephew and cousin.

In 2007, we added another addition to our family, a girl. Making our family complete in our eyes. Shortly after our daughter was born my dad's dad passed away, he had been batteling Alzheimers for quite some time. He was also a wonderful grandfather and great grandfather and is missed. Love you Papaw B.

In 2008, we were transferred from TN to AL, starting a new adventure in our lives with no family around. You never realize how much you miss famiy until they are not there.

In 2009, we added one more addition to our family, another cousin. If you happen to be counting that's 7 babies over the course of 5 years.

In a nut shell that was the past decade. I look forward to all the exciting adventures and things ahead of us in this new year and decade.
